For the second year running, Torres Brandy has been listed among the top ten preferred brandy and cognac brands by the world’s best bars and cocktail establishments, according to Drinks International. The brandy distilled by Bodegas Torres in the Penedès, stands out among the great cognacs and has moved from tenth to seventh position on the Best Selling Brands list, taken from a survey among the world's 100 best bars, that received votes in ‘The World’s 50 Best Bars 2015’ poll, published by the leading British magazine Drinks International, a global reference in the spirits sector.
With five references, among them a brandy created especially for cocktails – Torres 15 – Torres Brandy is the only Spanish brand which has broken into the ranking of Drinks International. Among the Top Trending Brands, which are those preferred by consumers but which are not necessarily the most selling brands in these bars, Torres Brandy has also moved up, into sixth position.
According to the January edition of the magazine, we can expect to see Torres grow their presence in this poll as there are more and more Latin American and Spanish bars making up the upper echelon of the bar world. Likewise, the magazine states that “While cognac is fine, delicate and features in a number of classic recipes, Spanish brandy’s sweeter, woodier style has the power to punch through just about any company in a glass”.
Moreover the quality of the brandies of Bodegas Torres is supported by national and international recognitions of some of its products. Particularly Jaime I stands out, chosen the world’s best brandy at the World Drinks Awards 2015; best Spanish brandy, with a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2015; and more recently, double gold at the CINVE 2016 – International Wine and Spirits Competition.
