The Bodegas Torres brandies continue to reap international awards. Jaime I has been selected as the world’s best brandy at the prestigious World Drinks Awards 2015, announced by TheDrinksReport.com at a ceremony held in London in March.
According to the tasting note published in this leading drinks industry digital magazine, “This rich and tasty Spanish brandy has a wonderfully sweet raisin/grape molasses nose with added spice to the typical barrel-influenced palate. Vanilla and caramel and a lot of oak dominate on the finish along with raisin.”
The jury of the World Drinks Awards, which have been held since 2007 and currently include 13 different types of alcoholic drinks, is comprised of a panel of experts and professionals from the sector, restaurateurs and journalists. The World Brandy Award is in turn divided into two categories: the award for the brandy with the best taste, this year given to Jaime I, and the best design.
This brandy by Bodegas Torres has also recently been honoured with another award in a competition on the other side of the Atlantic. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition, in its 15th edition, has selected Jaime I as the Best Spanish Brandy, giving it a double gold medal, the highest distinction. At this event, another two brandies by Bodegas Torres, Torres 20 and Torres 10, were awarded a gold medal and a double gold medal respectively.
